Do you know your NHS number? It is a 10 digit number unique to you and allows your NHS records to tie together to one person. It is different from your NI number, your passport number, your driving license number, or any other identifying number you may have.
It is made up of 10 digits, often split up like this in 3 groups:
123 456 7890
Most of the time you may not need to know your NHS number but increasingly you may be asked for it, for example to register for online services, for the NHS app, or to book your Coronavirus immunisation.
You might find the number on your repeat prescription, on a letter from us, or on a letter from a hospital.
You can now also use the NHS online service to obtain your number.
Go to www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/find-nhs-number to use the NHS number finding service.
