Repeat prescription and medication requests

In April 2020, we made it easier for people to request repeat prescriptions given the social distancing and lockdown arrangements that were put in place earlier in the year when the global Coronavirus pandemic started. We offered the service that was previously kept for our housebound patients to everyone, knowing that people were less likely to be leaving their houses. This meant that any patient could request a repeat medication over the telephone.

As the year progresses, and shielding and social distancing and lockdown measures have eased, we have found that keeping this service open has been helpful for you, our patients. It has meant though, that the wait times on the telephones has increased due to the large increase in call volume, including for people requesting repeat medication over the phone, and that our housebound patients have struggled to get through.

From Monday 24 August 2020 we are changing back towards the previous system, and please ask that if you need repeat prescriptions or medications, that you request this via:

If you are housebound, as well as the above methods, you are also able to telephone the surgery and request medication by ringing us on 01202 897200 after 2pm. Please do not ring before 2pm.

If you are not housebound, from Monday 24 August 2020, we unfortunately will not be able to accept your prescription requests over the phone. This is the same system we operated before the Coronavirus lockdown.
